China has deep home-textile manufacturing capability, but country alone does not determine quality. Professional sourcing depends on qualifying the company and site, issuing a complete specification, approving samples and controlling commercial and quality expectations.
Qualify the supplier
Confirm legal entity, manufacturing and subcontracting scope, relevant sites, export experience, communication owner and current buyer-required records. Use video review, audit evidence or an in-person visit as appropriate to risk.
Issue one controlled specification
Define dimensions, fiber, yarn or fill, construction, color, finish, labels, packaging, testing and tolerances. State quantity by SKU and destination market so the supplier can identify minimums and evidence needs.
Approve materials and samples
Review swatches first when appropriate, then a product sample and complete packed sample. Record revisions and freeze the approved reference before bulk production.
Agree quality and documentation
Set inspection stages, sampling rule, defect definitions, laboratory responsibilities and document scope. Do not rely on a certificate name without matching it to the entity, material or product.
Align terms and logistics
Payment, Incoterm, lead time, freight, duties and delivery responsibilities are negotiated by project. Confirm the current quotation rather than assuming a standard deposit or shipping arrangement.
