Ingeo is a NatureWorks polylactic acid (PLA) material platform made using renewable plant-based feedstock. FY Bedding develops pillows, quilts, comforters and related textile programs with PLA-based fibers selected for the required construction.

This distinction is important: material credentials do not automatically certify every downstream product.

Ingeo materialNatureWorks and Ingeo documentation describes the PLA material platform, renewable feedstock and material-level certifications or assessments.
Material level
USDA BioPreferred noticeApplication ID 10798, approved in March 2022, names HAPPY LIVING polylactic acid velvet and fiber pillows and records a 100% biobased content test result. Applicability is limited to the named products while formulation and program requirements remain satisfied.
Named product level
SGS test reportReport SL52115283172601TX, dated July 15, 2021, covers the received polylactic acid pillow sample: a 100% cotton shell and 100% PLA filling, with reported tests including fiber content, formaldehyde, pH, odor, color fastness and azo amines. The report states that results apply only to the sample received.

Company brochure blendThe supplied Ingeo Down brochure describes one filling material containing 37% PLA. This is a different construction from the SGS-tested 100% PLA-fill pillow sample.

Downstream certification: the supplied Ingeo certificate deck expressly notes that finished products need their own independent certification. Buyers should request the current document that matches the exact product, formula and shipment requirement.

This two-page certificate is issued to NatureWorks LLC. It supports review of the stated polymerization site and PLA material scope; it is not an FY Bedding certificate and does not certify every downstream textile product.

FY Bedding program route

FY Bedding coordinates Ingeo PLA-based home-textile development through a partner manufacturing and material-supply route. The supplying entity, material grade, batch, composition and transaction evidence are confirmed for each project.
